A toast to my own Princess and her Prince
I know, I know... this posting is very much so written by a proud mother and mother in law, but then..., what can I do if they are very "proudable"?
Last night, before going to bed, I had set the alarm clock to 3 AM, Panama's time. Joel was away, so I was able to wake up and just stay in bed watching the wedding moments unfold right before my eyes. Needless to say that in a couple of moments, tears rolled down my cheeks... oh it's so good to be a woman and have all these hormones available to be used, specially not having anyone around, thus no need to explain your emotions, LOL!
Anyway, going back to my early rise. Three AM I was as awake as I could be, sitting on my bed, TV was on and although I wasn't quite dressed up for the wedding, was feeling like I was right there, in London, just like back in the years we lived there...this morning I walking into Westminster Abbey, walked down The Mall, stopped in front of Buckingham Palace, enjoyed the horses, the policemen... today I seriously went back to my routes, my English routes, after all, on my father's side, I am a cousin to HRM Prince William, I had to "attend" the wedding and so I did!
As the various moments of the morning unrolled, I couldn't help but remember my Darling young Princess's wedding, Alice, and have come to realize that Alice and William are truly cousins and I believe William and Kate were surely inspired by Alice and David's wedding ( in 2006) when they were planning theirs, LOL.
Just check out the coincidences between both weddings:
- Alice and David had their English wedding on April 30th. William and Kate on April 29th.
- David proposed Alice in Kenya. William proposed Kate also in Kenya.
- Alice and David's wedding was in Cambridge. William and Kate are now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
- and to finalize it all, Alice and David left their wedding also on a convertible car with David driving it rather than drivers and earlier today, so did William and Kate.
Also, it was so good to have hours and hours of positive, festive and beautiful broadcasting rather than hours and hours of scenes showing mother nature and or "men nature" fury!
God bless them!
